Start Phase Galvanostatic

The start phase is an optional preconditioning of galvanostatic method. If the potentiostat is switched off the start phase begins at open circuit current.

If the start current of the method differs from the last applied current, the current of the DUT is ramped to this start current of the subsequent measurement method at a defined scan rate.

Scan Rate

\(\frac{|∆I|}{∆t}\)

current scan rate for ramping from applied current to the next starting current

\(\frac{I}{s}\)

Diagram of the galvanostatic start phase, illustrating the current ramp from the last applied current to the start current of the subsequent method.

Measurement Result

The voltage and current curves are recorded as a function of time. Additional measurement signals are also recorded if they are activated.
