Chronoamperometry

Chronoamperometry applies a constant voltage to the device under test (DUT). This causes current flow through the DUT. The current is measured over time at a defined sampling rate. If the potentiostat is switched off before starting chronoamperometry, a start phase is added in which the potentiostat is switched on at the current OCV and ramps at a defined scan rate (∆E/∆t) to the set DC potential Edc. A maximum measurement time (tmax) is defined for the chronoamperometry to ensure the measurement is deterministic.

After a holding time (thold), the chronoamperometry can be terminated early when a defined current stability state is reached or a current limit Imin/Imax is exceeded.

A Start Phase Potentiostatic can be enabled or disabled before the method is executed.

Measurement Result

The voltage and current curves are recorded as a function of time. Additional measurement signals are also recorded when activated.
